# Ticket Tiers

> Create and manage ticket types for your event.

Ticket tiers let you offer different ticket types for the same event — for example Early Bird, General Admission, and VIP.

## Creating a tier

1. Open your event and go to the **Tickets** tab
2. Click **Add Tier**
3. Set:
   * **Name** — e.g. "Early Bird", "GA", "VIP"
   * **Price** — set to £0 for free tickets
   * **Quantity** — total number of tickets available for this tier
4. Click **Save**

The tier is active immediately if the event is published.

## Editing a tier

Click on any tier to edit its name, price, or quantity. You can increase quantity at any time. Reducing quantity below the number already sold is not permitted.

## Deactivating a tier

Toggle a tier off to stop sales on that tier without deleting it. Tickets already sold remain valid.

## Sold-out behaviour

When a tier's quantity is fully sold, it automatically shows as **Sold Out** on the event page. Buyers cannot purchase sold-out tiers.

## Release schedules (Pro)

Release schedules let you automatically activate tiers at a specific date/time, or when a prior tier sells out. See [Release Schedules](/events/release-schedules).
