# Ticket Transfers

> Allow buyers to transfer their tickets to someone else.

Ticket transfers let a buyer reassign their ticket to another person before the event. The new holder's name is updated on the ticket and at the door.

## Enabling transfers

Transfers are opt-in per event:

1. Open your event and go to **Event Settings → Visibility**
2. Toggle on **Allow ticket transfers**
3. Save

## How transfers work for buyers

When transfers are enabled, buyers can initiate a transfer from their order confirmation page. They enter the recipient's email address, and the recipient receives a new ticket confirmation. The original ticket is invalidated.

## Things to know

* Transfers can only happen before the event starts
* Each ticket can only be transferred once
* Refunds apply to the original purchaser; transfers do not affect refund eligibility
* Door staff see the current valid ticket holder's name when scanning
